DANCER | CHOREOGRAPHER | PERFORMER

Hi! I’m Meredith!

Meredith Brown is an Asheville, North Carolina native whose technical foundation began under the mentorship of former Alvin Ailey principal company member Raquelle Chavis. Her early dedication to the Horton technique led her to the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA), where she performed repertory by Merce Cunningham and José Limón, as well as original works by Ming-Lung Yang and Juel D. Lane.

Meredith’s professional trajectory accelerated in New York City while earning her BFA in Dance from Fordham University/The Ailey School. During her undergraduate years, she performed with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in “Festa Barroca” and “Memoria” at New York City Center, and appeared in Hope Boykin’s “Chasing the Spirit” at the Ailey Spirit Gala. Her training is further distinguished by intensives with Complexions, LINES Ballet, and the Jacob’s Pillow Contemporary Program under Milton Myers, where she collaborated with visionaries such as Sidra Bell and Antoine Vereecken.

After making her professional debut with Madison Hicks’ The Moving Forward Collective, Meredith joined Ailey II. Her tenure with the company includes four national and two international tours, highlighted by a recent season at The Joyce Theater. She has performed iconic Ailey repertory alongside new works by Houston Thomas, Rena Butler, and My’Kal Stromile. Beyond the stage, Meredith is a dedicated educator committed to artistic outreach, seeking to inspire the next generation of dancers through a shared passion for lifelong learning and movement.
